Day 84; July 20 -- Last Day of Hanging Around Alaska
We piddled around downtown Valdez this morning. Mailed some postcards, got doughnuts at the local Safeway/Carrs. Drove around the harbor. We then headed back to the camper and stopped by a glacier on the airport road.
Driver had his bologna and cheese. We then got in the truck and headed north. The falls below is called the Horsetail Falls.
This one is the Bridal Veil Falls.
This is the old man that said "I do!"
We stopped at a road side parking area. I was sitting in the truck reading and Gary was picking up rocks. I looked up and saw this Eagle on the rock. So, I got out and took his picture.
Don't have a clue who this old middle-aged couple could be? Where did the time go? Where did our youth go? We still know how to have a good time though. I saw a young couple taking their own picture, so thought we would try it. Not to bad? A look of puzzlement?
This is the Worthington Glacier. It was right along the road.
The second one was a larger mature brown bear. She actually stayed around long enough to catch a few fish and then she left too. They really don't seem to mind all the people around them.
Because we saw two bear each night, we decided to come back to the camper and rest up for a long day of driving tomorrow. Don't know where we will stop or if we will have WiFi. I will catch up when I can......having a ball.........thank God everyday for the chance of a life time to be able to take this trip.

We went back to the camper, I put some eggs on to make tuna salad sandwiches, grabbed the laundry and my Nook and headed to the laundry. After it was done, I went back and packed a picnic lunch to take to the fish hatchery for bear viewing. The tuna sandwiches must have worked because we saw two different brown bears that came right to the fishing area to have their dinner. How exciting!
The first one was a brown cub that came from the ocean side. He walked to the edge, got into the water, and then left before he could catch any fish. The second one was a larger mature brown bear. She actually stayed around long enough to catch a few fish and then she left too. They really don't seem to mind all the people around them.
