Days 89 and 90; July 25 and 26 -- Junction 37 to Stewart, BC

This was one of the prettiest drives.  We have decided Canada has just as much lovely scenery and more wildlife to view.  Sunday night we stayed at the Junction of 37/Alaskan Highway.  We choose the Little Nugget RV Park.

Can't imagine why they parked us on this street?
We did see one lone moose today wading up to it's knees in a lake.  We mainly are headed south as this time.  Our Sirius radio is working now. although I need to move the antenna.  Seems to be messing up the compass on the truck mirror.  We stayed half-way to Stewart at the Tatogga Lodge.  It was pretty rustic.  The electricity went off for about an hour, the internet was non-existent.  A group of bicyclists camped there also.  Helicopters were taking off every few minutes.  Mosquitoes were as large as birds and more plentiful.  I was suppose to do laundry but it started to rain and Gary had not unhooked the truck and I didn't want to carry it up the hill.  We had Hamburger Gravy, Fried Potatoes and Onions, and Biscuits for dinner.  Went to bed and headed down the road again.

On the way to Stewart we saw a brown bear along the side, I wasn't fast enough to get a picture of it.  A little bit later on we passed this little black bear.  Driver stopped and  I was brave enough to get out, left the door open, and got a pretty good shot.

We are staying at the Bear Creek RV Park in Stewart.  I did the laundry as soon as we arrived.  After that I fixed Fried Spam, Potatoes, and Onions, Peas, and Fried Bread.  Our arteries are still pumping.  After dinner, we went sight seeing to the Fish River Bear Lookout.  We were just about ready to leave, all the action we saw were the Chum Salmon jumping and swimming around.  Gary wanted to walk to the end of the lookout, but I was enjoying the fish,  I even did some movie clips of them.

Isn't this picture beautiful?  Can you see the look-out bridge built along the right side with My Driver?  This part of Canada is green,  lush,  mountains, rivers, and wildlife.

About this time, a man pointed at this little mother and her baby.
I have pictures of the mother jumping into the river, reaching and trying to catch fish all the way down until the bend of the river.  The cub was scared when she jumped into the water and hid back into the trees; but you could see it slowly moving down the bank after its mother.  We had been told on one of the tours that a bear could run up to 60 mph.  I believe it now.  She was going after those fish!

I also forgot to tell you that on the way home when we stopped at Tok, Gary came carrying a bag of BBQ bricks that a woman had given him.  She told him they had been carrying them all over the country and were not using them.  I am going to have to tie that man to the camper!  Wonder which sorry story he was telling her?

I have more pictures that we took of the little town of Steward and Hyde.  Hyde is pretty rustic.  A lot of the old original buildings, we drove down to the ocean, and around.  Because of the slow service here, I will have to share those pictures in my photo album.

Computer is a little faster this morning.  This is a picture last night of the ocean in the background with old buildings and boat on the right side.  Just like going back in time.  A sign said this was the friendliest ghost town on the map.
