Day 70; July 6 - Girls and Driver on the Town

We managed to get up around 9:00am AT.  Marsha and Gary had toast, MK had Diet Pepsi, Me Myself and I had coffee.
 After stopping at the McDonalds for $1.00 large drinks, we went to the Pretty Wal-Mart.  Now they know!
 Driver accidentally found the Cook Inlet (see Anchorage in the background!)  We all enjoyed the  view of the mountains from there.
 We watched airplanes take off.
 Look at these contented animals.  We had just been stuffing ourselves at Kentucky Fried Chicken.  I will have to remember when I want them to take us out for dinner, to threaten them with Fried Spam Sandwiches.

MB had asked us if we every ran into someone that we had camped by, no.....and who pulls in but someone from Watson Lake.  Couple from Louisiana. Retired Nurse and Story Teller.  Nurse had told us that the groceries down around Seward were really expensive, so we went to the local CARRS and stocked up on more Spam....Ha, Ha, Ha!!!!  But left the watermelon there, MK wouldn't spend $13 for a melon.  Tightwad!

Back home and introduced them to the campers shower.  I was nice (can you believe it?) and took the one with all this yucky, long, died red, ugly hair!!!!.  I said that we needed to call the CSI and have the DNA done on that ugly hair and string that old lady up!  Back to the camper, calmed down, and went to bed so we could pack up and head south.  Love having someone to listen to me!  They even talk back to me........but this is day 1 with Friends.

Days 93 and 94; July 29 & 30 -- Canada to USA

Whee.....what a long three days.....we put a lot of miles on the vehicles and our bodies.  When I last blogged we were at Dave's RV Park in Vanderhoof, BC.  Gary said that this was one of the best kept campgrounds that we had visited.  The bathrooms were spotless and the grounds and flowers matched.  We aimed to go around 200 miles and stop.....somehow that didn't fall into place.  We stopped for lunch at a rest area.  I took this pictures overlooking the valley below from the camper door.  You can see the screen door marks on the picture.  All along this road, we passed original log houses and out buildings.  It made you feel like you were travelling on the very path that the pioneers had taken.  We finally found a campground in the canyon.  Gary got out to take his movie pictures and asked me where we were and what was the name of the campground.  Neither of us knew.  We did have a good dinner.  He grilled t-bone steaks, we had grilled potatoes, salad, and fried bread.  Yu

December 31 2013 -- Happy New Years!

I noticed that the last post was a Merry Christmas post.  Wellllllllll..... Happy New Year! Yesterday, December 30, we headed to Florida.  One more sticker added to the camper map.  Yippee! I held the camera for five miles with the intention of not missing the change of state sign.  I had it aimed at the side of the road and was viewing every sign along the way......about the time I pushed the button for this picture, the Driver (think next year we will promote him to Travel Planner--you know it is one of those things that employers do to delay a raise in pay) hit a BUMP! The next picture is on the way to our new campground.  It is called Whispering Pines in Silver Springs, Florida.   Gary booked this campground using our Passport America.  We get full hookup sites for $14 per night.  He has done a really good job picking out the sites.  Don't you agree he needs a new title.  Travel Planner he will be!  Diesel is a little high $3.82 to $4.07. Day 105; August 10 -- Woman's Work?

Today the driver got up and took the truck for its 9:00am appointment.  They flushed and cleaned and changed the oil and then claimed they could not find any problems.  They suggested that we drive it and see if the cleaning and collapsed air filter correct the problem. I did the laundry, changed the sheets on the bed, cleaned out a couple of drawers, and tried to straighten the closet.  It seems to have more "stuff" than it did when we started? Is it a sign that we are ready to head home?  We get excited when we see signs with our family member's name on it? This is the Green Acres RV Park in Redding, CA.  It is what I was expecting California to be like.  It is a "picky" park that is manicured daily with two gentlemen that remind me of Uncle Ray.  (Maybe that it how I imagine California?)
