Day 34; May 31 - Longest Day Yet

On the way up to Yellowstone, we had to wait for these buffalo to get across the bridge.  It was too early in the morning.  We left around 6:30am MT.
The new snow was evident everywhere.  We had to wait at least three days for them to get the new 17 inches in control before the east entrance was open for travel.  It was still open from 8pm-10am each day.  They close it during the day for avalanche possibilities.

We drove up north and observed the upper and lower falls.  Beautiful day!  Photographers were set up and waiting for the sun to hit the falls just right to get their perfect pictures.  When you don't know what is perfect, we just shot away.  Looked good to me!

This is Gary and friends looking at the lower falls.

 LONG WAY DOWN!

Back on the roads to the west entrance.  We had never been there before!
We then headed to the south entrance and Jackson.  Jackson was not what I thought it would be.  Sometime we will have to spend more time going through the shops.
Teton Mountains.  You drive along the bottom and these gorgeous mountains are along the west side.
Potty Break

We then drove the scenic drive through Debois down to Riverton (I was too tired to stop at the casino!), through Thermopolis, and then north to Cody.  We passed through the Wind River Canyon.  It was worth the extra long drive.

This was the sun setting just as we were getting close to Cody.  We had been driving (except for a McDonald's break on the west side) from 6:30am-9:30pm.  Too long; but a little sleep and we are ready to pack up and head up to Three Forks, Montana, today.
