Day 99; August 4 -- Otis, OR to Roseburg, OR
We didn't leave very early today (11:00am). I think we must have been tired and lazy. I have figured out that all this travelling is hard on old bodies. Go, Go, and Go!
Today was probably one of the best days for breath-taking scenery. It was like everytime we turned a corner there was another postcard view. We had only gone about 45 miles and we came across a Wal-Mart. I hadn't developed pictures for a long time. So, we stopped and did that.
We then headed down 101 south.

What kind of storm, weather, or act of God formed these rocks?
Ocean and then a mountain of trees? Color on color!
Waves rushing into the shore. Perfect day for this drive. We were blessed again. Yesterday it was foggy and you could not see very far.

Now, we are approaching the Oregon Sand Dunes. Amazing formations.
Crossing an old bridge. It had a stop light to alert the traffic if the draw bridge was up. We noticed that Oregon has a lot of it's original bridges. I liked to see them. They have character.
Driver declined to put his driving skills to test!
On Hwy 138 we passed several elk viewing areas.
HA! ELK?
We drove down tree-covered roads. Passed farm lands with cows, horses, and sheep. Hay was being baled. Summer time in Good Ole' America. Driver and I got a kick out of a comment that was sent to a local radio station. They suggested that we keep the congress on vacation so they cannot mess up anything else.......
We ended up at Roseburg, OR at a tree-shaded security gated park called Twin Rivers Recreation Park. We are going to stay here 2-3 days and drive over to the Lake Park, get some new tires for the truck, get a second opinion on the old flat, go to JCPenney's to show them my purse.
Tonight we had hamburgers and french fries. I love my french fry cutter. Zap, Zap, Zap......and I have a pan of fries.
