December 16 2013 -- Hunting Island SC to Townsend GA

Here we go again.....
The sun started peaking through Sunday afternoon.  I actually got out and walked around the grounds and close to the beach.

Hunting Island State Park SC
The Pacific Ocean was right behind our camper.  Prissy and Gary had been here before on their walks; but it was my first view.  The beach was still wet from the drizzly rain that we had been having for several days.  I was needing some sunshine.  After being under the shelter of the pines and palms and clouds, I was ready to feel a few sun rays.

What do you think?  The ocean must be slowly eating away the shore lines?  I love these old trees.  There is beauty somewhere in them.

This is our camper and you can see how close we are to the ocean.  The rates for this island park $31.62 per day or half off if you stayed for a month.  A good discount.

Sunday afternoon Gary wanted to go out again, mainly to see the lighthouse on the island  We drove southeast to  Fripp Island.  Quickly we found out that this was a private island and you needed to live there or have an invitation to get pass the gates.  Snobs!

Fripp Island
I was able to sneak a picture of this little shanty through the trees.  Wonder who lives here?  There were several homes along the shoreline.  Oh, the life of the rich and famous?
Private Home on Fripp Island
We headed home and drove through dense trees and vegetation to the lighthouse.  You could walk to the top; but really people, can't you see what it looks like from this picture?

Monday morning, December 16, we packed up and headed south.  Finally, I was able to get a state sign.  We have been across the borders several times, but the driver has a heavy foot and the roads are bumpy and I was just able to get a good sign today.  We have settled into a little RV park at McIntosh Lake Campground & RV Park, 1093 McIntosh Lake Lane, SW; Townsend GA  31331.  We will stay here for two weeks.  I voted to not travel over Christmas.  Better to safe and sound hopefully.  Gary did inform me that there will be a guest Christmas dinner in the club house.  Turkey and Ham will be furnished by the owners and the guests are to bring side dishes.  The rates here are $150 per week/$21.50 per day.
