December 1, 2013 - Gary Out on His Own in the Battlefield?

Gary likes museums a whole lot better than I do and he is much smarter and remembers his history.  His mother did a good job of teaching him  He decided to go back to the Visitor's Center at the National Park and read more about the battles, etc.  I elected to stay home and do laundry and listen to Christmas music and read.  Good choice.  We (I) am celebrating Missouri's win over Texas A&M.  Watching the Chiefs and Broncos now.  Score changed drastically while I was typing and uploading pictures.

He even took these pictures on his phone.  He is really getting techie.  He told me that we had missed half of the park yesterday.  He drove through the park again and went into the round monument dedicated to Illinois soldiers.  He said there was a list of units and names listed in the dome of the monument.  Very interesting.  If you like history, put this on your bucket list.

We are doing fine and enjoying this park.  The ladies in the office are wonderful and had some interesting stories to tell.  The restrooms and laundry room are excellent and I found out for 50 amps, you can stay here for 28 days for $450.  The laundry was $1.50 for both washer and dryer.  The clothes were clean and dry.  Happy Camper!
