Friday and Saturday--February 2 and 3--Texas Theater

Friday, Febraury 3, we did not much at all.  I started a quilt.  Finished a book and warmed up leftovers for dinner.

Saturday, February 4,I  had a really nice day.  We got up after it rained most of the night again.  Water was standing all around us.  Pond is about ready to go out the spillway.  Wet Texas!

I cooked the old man ham and eggs for breakfast and cut out some more quilt squares.  He started watching a movie and I had to get ready for the concert in between the commercials.

Off to town we went.  We stood in line to get pretty good seats.  The old theater is being restored by the town members.  Nice comfy seats.

The first entertainer was Justin Trevino.  He is one of my favorite Texas singers.

Justin Trevino

While Justin Trevino was singing "Devil Woman" he stopped in the middle and stated that he always stopped the band at this point because he did not understand the lyrics.  (Something about even the sea gulls were happy that Mary was coming back home.)   Justin was wondering how you could tell if a see gull was happy.  But one time a man in the crowd jumped up and said you could tell  when they whistle through their peckers.
Next was Tony Booth.  He was good.

Next a local girl of Seguin, Dottsi.

After the concert, we went to dinner at a local restaurant that was recommended by one of the volunteers at the theater.  While sitting there eating our meal, guess who came in?  Justin, his wife, and the steel guitar player.  We finished our meal and I got up enough nerve to ask Justin's wife if he would mind taking a picture for my blog.

Gary was about to crawl under the table; but how could I pass an opportunity to meet someone that I have enjoyed listening to on the radio and TV?  All three of them were really nice.  Thye invited me to sit at their table and asked where we were from and where we were staying and that they would probably be going to a local dance hall after the evening show.  I didn't tell them I had a MU vs KU basketball game to watch.

Sounds like ya'll had a good weekend. Hope your enjoying the warmer weather in Texas, although it's been a really mild winter so far back here. Not much going on back here. Chawee drug me around to several furniture stores this weekend, and decided on a new couch and love seat set, and then a curio from another store. I get to go back to each store after work today to pay for them and arrange for delivery. There goes the tax returns.
