February 8, 2012--Down to Corpus Christi
It was a long day, but it was a good day. We left around 9:30am and headed south down Hwy 123. We drove through Victoria. The landscape turned into flat farm land.
San Antonio Bay |
Just outside of the park was a tourist attraction called "A Big Tree". We saw this man and his team of horses out enjoying the beautiful day.

After we left this house we came to the intersection of Park Road and Hwy 35 we were stopped for construction work. We waited, we waited, and we waited. Finally we decided to go back north and go home. We ended up at Refugio. We had lunch at Whataburger, got some tea for the driver, and he decided he really wanted to drive to Corpus Christi and I wanted to see King Ranch so we headed back south. We were there, might as well do it!
We are crossing the bay here. Water on both sides.

Nice homes along the seashore.
Bay full of ships! |
We drove further south to Kingsville and headed out to the ranch.

BUMMER! It is somewhere we would like to return and take a tour. There were several tour vans out front.
So we went to the restroom, got back into the truck and headed north to Seguin.
We stopped and had ice cream. Blizzard of the Month is Chocolate Covered Cherry--pretty tasty.
We listened to the KU vs Baylor game on the Sirius radio and made it home in time to see the second half.
