January 19 2014 -- Time to Eat Again

Seems like all we do is eat, sleep and start all over.  I think I might be gaining weight because last night when I was going to bed I couldn't tell if I was coming or going!  This new body is really something to get use to.

We finished off our gift card at Cracker Barrel.  Gary had his Fishhook Kent cap from The Dougherty Family and found this little sign at Cracker Barrel.  So, Jerry this one is for you.



Here are my finished storage boxes for the pantry.  Pretty proud of them.  Debating on putting two in each hole; but wonder if I can see my "stuff" as easily.  He does a good job.  So, I gave hime the choice of soup, chicken fried steak, or fried Spam and potatoes and onions.  He choose the Spam Skillet.  He gets so excited when you feed him something he likes.  Don't ever offer corn on the cob and fried ham at the same time.  Don't think his heart could handle it!


We are well and planning on moving on south tomorrow.  Gary and his neighbor buddies have been talking and one told him to make sure we go to the park in the middle of the everglades.  One even had him to do a toilet paper experiment on how it disolves in water?  Are they bored?  I love travelling; but sure wish I could fly my family in for a visit and a hug.

Days 93 and 94; July 29 & 30 -- Canada to USA

Whee.....what a long three days.....we put a lot of miles on the vehicles and our bodies.  When I last blogged we were at Dave's RV Park in Vanderhoof, BC.  Gary said that this was one of the best kept campgrounds that we had visited.  The bathrooms were spotless and the grounds and flowers matched.  We aimed to go around 200 miles and stop.....somehow that didn't fall into place.  We stopped for lunch at a rest area.  I took this pictures overlooking the valley below from the camper door.  You can see the screen door marks on the picture.  All along this road, we passed original log houses and out buildings.  It made you feel like you were travelling on the very path that the pioneers had taken.  We finally found a campground in the canyon.  Gary got out to take his movie pictures and asked me where we were and what was the name of the campground.  Neither of us knew.  We did have a good dinner.  He grilled t-bone steaks, we had grilled potatoes, salad, and fried bread.  Yu

December 31 2013 -- Happy New Years!

I noticed that the last post was a Merry Christmas post.  Wellllllllll..... Happy New Year! Yesterday, December 30, we headed to Florida.  One more sticker added to the camper map.  Yippee! I held the camera for five miles with the intention of not missing the change of state sign.  I had it aimed at the side of the road and was viewing every sign along the way......about the time I pushed the button for this picture, the Driver (think next year we will promote him to Travel Planner--you know it is one of those things that employers do to delay a raise in pay) hit a BUMP! The next picture is on the way to our new campground.  It is called Whispering Pines in Silver Springs, Florida.   Gary booked this campground using our Passport America.  We get full hookup sites for $14 per night.  He has done a really good job picking out the sites.  Don't you agree he needs a new title.  Travel Planner he will be!  Diesel is a little high $3.82 to $4.07. Day 105; August 10 -- Woman's Work?

Today the driver got up and took the truck for its 9:00am appointment.  They flushed and cleaned and changed the oil and then claimed they could not find any problems.  They suggested that we drive it and see if the cleaning and collapsed air filter correct the problem. I did the laundry, changed the sheets on the bed, cleaned out a couple of drawers, and tried to straighten the closet.  It seems to have more "stuff" than it did when we started? Is it a sign that we are ready to head home?  We get excited when we see signs with our family member's name on it? This is the Green Acres RV Park in Redding, CA.  It is what I was expecting California to be like.  It is a "picky" park that is manicured daily with two gentlemen that remind me of Uncle Ray.  (Maybe that it how I imagine California?)
