Feb 4 2014 -- South to Key West FL

Started the day with "Dear, time to get up."  Ugh, it was 8am in the morning.  My lights don't come on until after 9am.

We started the day off at McDonalds with McMuffins and coffee.  Gary had sweet tea.

The 130 mile trip was slow but pretty.  The traffic was heavy and most of the road was two lanes.  It was a beautiful day.  High reached 83 degrees.  I'm sorry northern friends; but it is nice!

As you can tell, boat after boat......the towns reminded me of Bagnell Dam.

When we reached Key West, I was surprised to find the older part had huge old homes.  Some were converted into Bed and Breakfast homes.

This picture doesn't look like much, but the old librarian in me was impressed that this was Ernest Hemingway's home.  There were several people hanging around.

This was our goal, to find the monument of the furthest southern point in the USA.  There was a line and Prissy was being very annoying and the driver suggested we just take a picture and head on back home.  We would have liked to take the trolley tours for $21.

Another impressive home.  It was three stories.  View of the oceans.

There were about ten jet keys racing along with the same distance between them.  If only I was young and could swim and didn't get car sick and didn't have a dog and ...........

One of the islands required a Seven Mile Bridge.  They saved several pieces of the old bridges to allow walkers and fishing access to the water without being in the way of traffic.
