November 12, 2013--Hot Springs Here We Come!

I APOLOGIZE FOR MISSPELLED WORDS AND ETC.  MY EYESIGHT ISN'T WANT IT USED TO BE!  NEVER REALIZED THAT THERE WOULD BE SO MANY SIDE EFFECTS TO BREAST CANCER.
Santa, Barb, and Gale
At the first of November we headed to Branson.  The plastic surgeon decided that we needed to wait until after January to do any type of surgery after the radiation.  I'm still dark brown and peeling from the damage.  Gary asked if there was a danger to wait until after March.  So we decided to go for snow birding in the south for the complete winter.  Barbara and Gale Carman meet us at Branson and we enjoyed a day at Silver Dollar City, shows, and a lot of new restaurants.  Barbara took care of the planning and the search for coupons.  Had a good time with family.
Sandy and Gary
My hair is growing slowly and my legs, knees, and hips are getting worse.  Maybe someday I'll get enough nerve to get my knees fixed.  Although, the hormone blocker is known for its damage to the muscles and bones.  Bone density tests will be done on me regularly to monitor damage.  Over all, every week I feel a little better.

Donna, Barry, and Angie came to Table Rock for a week vacation.  We stayed busy.  Went to shows and Silver Dollar City, and ate out a few times.  Barry also grilled Missouri trout.  I fixed the potatoes and Donna did the creamed peas and bread.  We had a feast.  Later on that night, Sharon and Clem Green came to set by the fire.  Sure have enjoyed seeing them again.

Roger and Dea (from Onaga) came to the campground and we exchanged money for a quilt.  Decided to eat lunch down town at the Farmhouse Restaurant.  I sure do like their Blackberry Pie Ala-mode.  Also enjoyed seeing friends from Kansas.

Roger and Susan were coming the next weekend; but the driver decided he didn't want to have to mess with the water hoses in the cold.  A strong cold front moved into the Branson area late Monday afternoon.  So, we checked the maps and parks, and headed to Hot Springs, Arkansas.  OUR TRIP BEGINS!

Hwy 65 South, Arkansas
When we left Branson on Monday, November 11, the trees were pretty much brown and rusty colored except the few in the state park.  We were pleased to find the color grew with each mile as we headed south into Arkansas.

It was a beautiful drive to Hot Springs.  We arrived at the Hot Springs National Park just as dusk was settling.  The park host came on his bike and helped Gary find a site and helped him back into our slot.  I promised to make dinner, but the roads were rough and I had a big mess to straighten.  The coffee pot was in the floor with wet grounds on the carpet.  The desk storage had emptied several drawers and I had to return all the spices back into their drawer.  So, out to find a Wendys.  I had been craving a Frosty (Donna doesn't like them!) so we asked Bertha to find it.  We ended up in the industrial section with no sight of Wendys.  We turned around and were about to settle for Burger King when we spotted Wendys on the other side of the street.  We got a little turned around trying to get back to the campground in the dark; but with two pair of eyes we returned safe and sound and had full tummies.
