Trip Home

The trip home was beautiful.  We were flying above the clouds.  It looked like cotton balls.  The sun was brilliant.  I had never seen this before.

Days 93 and 94; July 29 & 30 -- Canada to USA

Whee.....what a long three days.....we put a lot of miles on the vehicles and our bodies.  When I last blogged we were at Dave's RV Park in Vanderhoof, BC.  Gary said that this was one of the best kept campgrounds that we had visited.  The bathrooms were spotless and the grounds and flowers matched.  We aimed to go around 200 miles and stop.....somehow that didn't fall into place.  We stopped for lunch at a rest area.  I took this pictures overlooking the valley below from the camper door.  You can see the screen door marks on the picture.  All along this road, we passed original log houses and out buildings.  It made you feel like you were travelling on the very path that the pioneers had taken.  We finally found a campground in the canyon.  Gary got out to take his movie pictures and asked me where we were and what was the name of the campground.  Neither of us knew.  We did have a good dinner. ...

December 6, 2012--A Whole Different Path

Thursday evening (November 29, 2012) I found a lump on my right breast.  No matter how much pretending, it wouldn't go away.  The next morning I woke up and thought maybe I had a bad dream.  Nope, the lump remained.  I called the Onaga Clinic and made an appointment for that morning.  The doctor examined me and made an appointment for Monday morning while the Manhattan Radiology team was on staff.  They did a sonogram and didn't like the shape and appearance so I was scheduled to go to Manhattan on Tuesday morning to have a biopsy.  That procedure took about two hours.  They tried to drain the mass but there was no fluid.  The tech made the comment that it was not a typical cyst.  I didn't want to watch so I had them to cover my head with a towel.  I got hot and uncovered my eyes and was able to see the sonogram screen.  They then took samples with a large needle that sounded like a drill with a vacuum on it.  We...

February 16 -- North Florida Again

On February 7, we headed northwest to Silver Springs/Ocala again.  We liked the park and felt comfortable there.  The weather in Kansas, Missouri, and Illinois is still poor.  We will stay here until we see some signs of warmer weather coming. The picture is of palm trees in a row and the car sitting there selling orchids.  (I never got one!)  This was on the northern out skirts of Homestead.  Homestead is where Uncle Ralph Wilkerson and his family came several winters to pick produce.  Aunt Dorothy has been explaining this to me and Jean Henning Bell remembers her mother talking about it too. Just to see some new scenery, we headed west across the Everglades.  It was a good road and was a Seminole reservaton.  Construction around the Tampa area. As we were turning east to go into Ocala, I spotted this sign stating that Ocala was the Horse Capital of the World.  Amazing! Gary found this flock of birds interesting. ...
