North to Alaska--Leaving Home
We left home April 28, 2011, to head for Alaska via the route to the hair dresser in Wamego. We stopped at Ellis, Kansas, at the "Campground by the Lake" for the night. We ended up staying two nights because the wind turned into "wind advisory". We rocked and rolled in the camper for two days.
Mary Sophia is getting ready to go shopping with Grama Sandy and her mom. Soon her favorite saying was "No more shopping, ready to go home!"
Grandpa Gary and Prissy are always ready for a rest.
These two monkeys don't need any rest.
Always impressed with the wind turbines along Interstate 70.
Our yard was looking really good when we left home. Gary had just mowed. Spring flowers and trees were in bloom. Can't you just smell the lilacs? He had planted the grass on the north ditch and had a really good stand. Home Sweet Home!
These are the two new Carman babies. They have a bottle-fed long-horn steer (around 3-4 days old) and a little black lab, Louise, (around 8 weeks old). I think the girls have adopted Jason's pheasant dog.
While we are on the road Calvin is growing and playing football and baseball. Chaney is busy getting ready for her first dance recital.
Saturday morning we got up and headed on to Jason and Cassie's house.
