One interesting place to visit. We went to Tucson AZ and choose the San Xavier del Bac. It is a 350 year old mission that still runs a school for 150 students from the reservation.
On the way to do laundry, I decided to take a picture of the shower house/laundry room. If you look closely, the laundry pair is in the screened area between the restrooms. Holmes County State Park Mississippi Site #2 for the Travelers Court House Square in Canton MS As we were trying to find a seal for my pressure cooker at the Presto Factory in Canton, we passed this Court House. This town was getting ready to have a Victorian Christmas Celebration. There was a merry-go-round for the young and the young-at-heart. Little Red School House (Mississippi) We took the exit to visit this school house. It is the birth place of the Eastern Star. It has housed soldiers, It is full of history. It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas. Going to make pumpkin and pecan pies tomorrow. Finished wrapping gifts today. Now when we get to Vicksburg, we will find a UPS office and help Santa get a few packages on the way. ...
Whee.....what a long three days.....we put a lot of miles on the vehicles and our bodies. When I last blogged we were at Dave's RV Park in Vanderhoof, BC. Gary said that this was one of the best kept campgrounds that we had visited. The bathrooms were spotless and the grounds and flowers matched. We aimed to go around 200 miles and stop.....somehow that didn't fall into place. We stopped for lunch at a rest area. I took this pictures overlooking the valley below from the camper door. You can see the screen door marks on the picture. All along this road, we passed original log houses and out buildings. It made you feel like you were travelling on the very path that the pioneers had taken. We finally found a campground in the canyon. Gary got out to take his movie pictures and asked me where we were and what was the name of the campground. Neither of us knew. We did have a good dinner. ...
Tuesday--Driving through Arkansas Arkansas Border We left Missouri around 10:45am. We went to the Meadows Shopping Center to get BIG DADDY some new jeans. Vanity Fair have the kind he likes to wear. After about two hours driving through Arkansas, it started raining and rained on us the entire trip. We settled in at the Sunset RV Park on the east side of Texarkana. We set the camper and headed to Wal-Mart to get the oil changed and the tires rotated. That was an interesting experience. It took them about a half hour to check the truck in and tried to talk Gary out of rotating the tires. When they were done, they claimed they had ran out of time and the tires were not done.......I was waiting in the door to get into the truck and the mechanic asked if I was having trouble. I told him no, that Gary was as slow as he was. Back to the camper to watch K-State vs Baylor. Headed to Weatherford tomorrow.
