December 1 2013 - Tour of Vicksburg MS

On November 29, 2013, our friends Robert and Roberta, Roberta, Roberta found our RV at the Ameristar Campground.  We visited and decided to go eat lunch at Cracker Barrel.  We had a great visit and meal.  We then decided to take a drive through the historical parts of Vicksburg,

Next we took a drive down Main Street to view the Antebellum homes.  Because I'm old and lazy and Gary is old and tight, we just viewed from the outside.  Each home charged a separate admission fee and most were Bed and Breakfasts.  We were hoping to get a tour bus so we could hear the history while driving by; but these were not offered.  You could get a tour guide that would ride around town in your car and tell you the history.  We decided not to do this.

Next we headed to the National Military Park.
Laura Holmes Carman, this picture is for you.  This is an Officer Holmes from Missouri.  Looks just like Adam?

Really did enjoy our day with our friends and we saw a lot of history.  War is such a waste of lives.  We have our freedom; but it is slipping away with the guidance of politicians that have never fought in battle.

Beautiful day in the south!
