Nov 17, 2013--Site Seeing Around Tunica MS

It is Sunday November 17.  Today would have been Daddy's 96th birthday.  95 was good though.  I do believe he was ready to meet his family by the river of life.

 Today we stopped at Isle of Capri to take care of the call of nature and eat lunch.  I forgot how much I enjoyed playing these games.  It is relaxing.

This park has been very enjoyable.  It was quiet.  It is clean.  The laundry room and restrooms were recently rebuilt after the last flood.  Cost was $17 per night.  It is patrolled by the security guards too.

Day 85; July 21 -- Valdez to Tok

We left this morning with mixed feelings.  Hated to leave the cool climate; but ready to see the family.  Thanks for all the comments.  It sure makes me feel like I'm doing this for a reason.  Today in Tok, it took me 1/2 hour to upload three pictures.  Wrangell-St. Elias National Park is as large as Vermont and New Hampshire put together.  It only had two entries and was mainly a hiking park.  We could view it from the south and west sides.  We have been in Alaska exactly 1 month.  We were at Tok at the Sourdough Campground on my birthday and now we are Tok on July 21.  That is why we went out to eat......I was claiming my birthday dinner.  It was good too.  Ribeye steak, baked potato loaded, bread/butter, and salad bar.......Happy Birthday to Me!  As the driver was driving along, minding his own business, he asked me if I could see Prissy up in the clouds.  Now can you imagine me saying, Hah? and wondering what ...

Wednesday, I was hankering for some ice cream.  Gota have it!  Gota have it!  So off to town we went.  After I got my ice cream and Gary his cherry coke, we decided to see what was on the other side of the river.  I didn't this existed; but Jerry, our neighbor from Wyoming, had told Gary about this little little attraction.  I found this information on the internet for your reading pleasure.  Enjoy? Days 93 and 94; July 29 & 30 -- Canada to USA

Whee.....what a long three days.....we put a lot of miles on the vehicles and our bodies.  When I last blogged we were at Dave's RV Park in Vanderhoof, BC.  Gary said that this was one of the best kept campgrounds that we had visited.  The bathrooms were spotless and the grounds and flowers matched.  We aimed to go around 200 miles and stop.....somehow that didn't fall into place.  We stopped for lunch at a rest area.  I took this pictures overlooking the valley below from the camper door.  You can see the screen door marks on the picture.  All along this road, we passed original log houses and out buildings.  It made you feel like you were travelling on the very path that the pioneers had taken.  We finally found a campground in the canyon.  Gary got out to take his movie pictures and asked me where we were and what was the name of the campground.  Neither of us knew.  We did have a good dinner. ...
