Barb alias Babs and Gale arrived baring gifts.  We went to dinner at Granbury at Babe's the Chicken House.  They serve your choice of a main dish and then serve family style creamed corn, slaw, biscuits, honey, sargum (you know that stuff they make from corn stalks) and homemade pie.  Had to have some coconut. These are the happy eaters. Bob, Gary, Gale, Babs, Sandy Kay, and Bertie.

Weatherford at The Vintage Restaurant

We got to Weatherford and did not stop going until we arrived in Oklahoma this afternoon. One of the first things we did was go to the "Vintage" restaurant that was in an old auto repair shop.  It housed several old cars and menn Gary abnd Bob with his purse? The food was good.  We had huge burgers and fries.  Yummy just thinking about it. These are the neighbors sheep.  No one can remember the current breed of sheep.  But they would visit daily.

LBJ Ranch

Let me see if I can remember all these picture's stories. As we were driving down Main Street of Fredericksburg?  We saw Cassie Carman had opened her own real estate company under here maiden name. Today was a history filled day.  We visited the LBJ State Park and Historic Site.  The park is free and the house tour was $3.00 per. The Johnson family had bought several of the ranches around the original acres.  The Sauer Beckmann farm was an authentic farm in operation.  Kids would love the real life. Love this picture! Please note the garden.  It had large heads of lettuce and broccoli and cool weather veggies. Next was the Trinity Lutheran Church. Johnson school house. Entering the ranch. Family cemetery where the Johnson are buried. Two large stones are LBJ and Ladybird. LBJ birthplace home. Grandparents' ranch home. LBJ private jet.  Had his own air strip. Next, he had his ow...

March 5, 2015, Gary got pretty close to the age of 70.......we went out to celebrate at the Horseshoe Cafe in Benson AZ. One the way we took pictures of an old motel.  It is on the historical registar and I love the old architecture. On March 6, we had our free breakfast at Dennys and headed east towards Las Crues.  We crossed the New Mexico boarder again. I guess someone besides me thought he might need direction? I think this might be Las Crues as we top the hill? We stayed behind a hotel for two nights.  The town had its historical sights too. You can give me new buildings; but I love the old ones that have or tried to survive the years. We left Las Crues NM and headed to Texas.  Several large, stinky feedlots along the Mexican border.  We got a message from our neighbor Janet Haskin that this is where she lived and worked for several years.  Not in the feedlots, she is a pharmacist. Oh, we are getting clos...
