Mall of America and Sandstone MN

Image
Finally after a week of travelling, I was able to add a new sticker of Minnesota to my map.  This is a big state with a lot of lakes and taverns. We headed down to Minneapolis to the Mall of America.  I can't believe I didn't need a thing.  Donna has me hooked on purple, so I've bought a few purple tops and shoes.  So, I needed a pair of purple earrings.  After all, it is my birthday. We drove around the outside of this huge building.  We parked and went into the Sears store.  Found the doors to the inside passage and fell into the amusement area.  I just wanted to be able to say I've been there and see the amusement park. Next stop, we drove home on the east side and found the Midwest Country Opry.  David Church is singing here next weekend, but I have a date with the grandkids and can't be diddling around. Midwest Country Music Theater Old Sandstone High School They just don't make buildings like they used to...

Randal Wisconsin

This lovely picture of the Welcome to Wisconsin sign.  You know no one has managed to invent a smooth connection between a bridge and the highway.  By the time the camera and I were finished bucking up and down, this is what we have. Our home four the next four days.  There are six spaces behind an old style motel.  We chose the end.  We are right along the interstate and train tracks.  Best sleep I've had in several days.  Today we did laundry and went to Brainard to the closest Culvers.  Deb got us hooked on the coupons for buy one and get one free.  Today we used the $1.00 of a basket deal.  We shared it, and had room for sundaes.

Oxford WI to Sarona WI

Image
On the way to Sanona WI, we were treated with several old cars passing us.  Their motors must have been good because Bertha II keeps telling the driver that he is going too fast. After we settled into our space at the White Tail Campground, we decided we were too close to Lake Superior to miss driving up to see what it looked like.  Big ship in the harbor. We made it back home by 6pm.  We have noticed that in all these parks up here in the northern part of the USA.  Most of the trailers are permanently settled.  Large decks but no people.

Fishhook Estates to North Illinois

Image
This is our spot and Fishhook Estates. We stopped at Rockford, Illinois.  The park was nice and green.  This is the spring of rain, rain, rain....the River was close to running over just to the south of our camper.  We stayed her one night.  Didn't even take the camper off the truck.  Wisconsin was the next state.  It has a lot of dairy farms.  We didn't get any cheese. We stayed at the White Tail Campground near Sonona Wisconsin. Took a trip to the Wisonsin Dells Strip.  It is a lot more commercial than Branson.  Water Park Capital of the USA. Getting ready to hit the road again.
